The DIW Carbon Rolex Daytona Exceptional-1 is another striking custom interpretation of the Cosmograph Daytona, combining the familiar 40mm chronograph architecture with extensive use of carbon fiber, a specially sculpted case, and a handmade Velcro-style NATO nylon strap.

Rather than simply changing the dial or bezel, DIW has redesigned multiple exterior components to create a distinctly technical appearance. Carbon fiber is used across the bezel and dial, while carefully opened sections along the case reveal additional carbon elements and emphasize the layered construction.

Unique Sculpted Case Construction

One of the most distinctive characteristics of the Exceptional-1 is its unusual case architecture.

The sides of the case have been carefully sculpted and partially opened, exposing sections of the carbon material underneath. Instead of the conventional solid-sided Daytona case, this construction introduces additional depth and gives the watch a more technical, performance-oriented appearance.

The combination of exposed carbon elements and metallic surfaces creates a layered effect that changes considerably depending on the viewing angle.

Carbon Fiber Bezel

The traditional Daytona tachymeter bezel is recreated using carbon fiber, immediately distinguishing the Exceptional-1 from conventional ceramic or metal Daytona configurations.

Inside is a Super Clone Cal. 4130 automatic chronograph movement, developed to closely reproduce the architecture and operation of the original 4130-generation caliber.

Unlike replicas that use generic chronograph movements with cosmetic modifications, the 4130 Super Clone is designed specifically around the Daytona layout and provides fully functional mechanical chronograph operation.

The movement controls the hours, minutes, running seconds, central chronograph seconds and chronograph counters while maintaining automatic winding for everyday use.

The specified power reserve is approximately 72 hours under ideal fully wound conditions.

Exhibition Caseback

Another important departure from the traditional Daytona design is the transparent exhibition caseback.
